When I started my German classes with Sandra my level of German was B2 and I was looking for a way to reach C1.
I had tried out several types of group classes beforehand, but I had reached a level where I felt stuck and did not see any relevant improvements with any of those formats any longer.
I came across Sandra via LinkedIn and was attracted by her full online 1:1 program and her innovative approach to learning. Before becoming her client, I had a free trial lesson and was positively impressed by the following:
– She takes online notes for you during classes, which are sent out just after each class and are top-quality, concise but relevant.
– She has indeed her own way to let you remember specific words, expressions, grammar rules, always making either logical links or relating an item to everyday life or, even better, to your own experience.
– Each lesson is well prepared in advance so that the time is really 100% focused on the study program.
– The program is 100% online, so flexible in terms of schedule.
I realized very soon that her approach to learning was effective. I could easily remember a number of topics discussed during the class and I was feeling my confidence in speaking German was gradually increasing. The fact that you have ready-to-use notes after each class it is a huge help. With respect to the grammar aspects, she also prepares for you convenient handouts ready to use (or review) as needed.
The homework load is not excessive, even if you work full time, and always weighted based on the time between classes. Sandra sends homework’s feedback before the class. So, the time spent on revising it during the class itself is minimal (unless if specific questions)
Sandra is also very friendly and makes the classes enjoyable. She is very proactive in giving you advice about how to accelerate your learning efforts besides classes. I started reading books in German and have to admit that this is feasible and even enjoyable!
These are exactly the reasons why I decided to renew my 3-month package and I will likely continue with her new group classes in September.
Overall, my experience as a student of Sandra is very positive and would highly recommend her to anyone who would like to boost his/her German skills in a reasonable timeframe. In about 6 months of classes, my overall German (and the confidence in speaking it) has significantly improved, which proves her approach is working. I am not at a C1 level yet but will probably reach it in another 6 months of classes or so.

I started taking German lessons with Sandra over a year ago to improve my language skills after moving to Switzerland. I decided to go for the private classes with Sandra so I could study from the comfort of my home and she was very flexible with the timings that was needed due to my full time job commitment. My friend had taken classes with her before and she was very pleased with Sandra, which made the deciding process much easier for me.
I had no previous German speaking knowledge and Sandra made learning very easy and interesting. What I liked a lot about her teaching methodology was that she was taking notes through the class so I could focus on learning rather than writing down everything new myself. I also really appreciate private classes that I think makes you improve much faster since all the focus is on you and not your classmates.
After studying with her for a year I can proudly say that my German speaking skills have improved a lot. I have been able to attend meetings with our architect and project manager held in German and I understood perfectly over 70% of the content which has been very liberating.
I could not recommend her enough and I will definitely continue taking classes with her in the future!
Would we be a good team?
My clients tend to be conscientious and driven professionals who want to learn German properly. They understand that advanced German skills and a deeper understanding of Swiss culture will allow them to integrate better into Swiss society and develop their careers in Switzerland in a way that they find fulfilling.
Most of them are ambitious individuals who like having a plan and appreciate structure. They want to feel sure about how to use German correctly in a work and social environment.
What my clients tell me repeatedly is that my coaching sessions are easy to follow, and they particularly appreciate how I break down the language into bite-size chunks, give them logical explanations and make sure they don’t feel overwhelmed.
At the same time, they are willing to put in the effort that it takes to make tangible progress in German. Just like in their day-to-day job, they bring a can-do attitude to learning German and approach learning new challenges with a positive mindset.
Most of my 1:1 clients are at a more advanced level such as B2 or C1 and have been working with me for months, if not years. They appreciate having me as an expert in their corner to help them keep going even when work and life are busy.
In fact, they see the German sessions as a stimulating break from their daily routine at work and something to look forward to that gives them a sense of achievement. What I have in common with all my clients is a professional attitude coupled with a positive outlook on life and not taking yourself too seriously.
How much is it?
Your investment for an intensive, tailor-made 1:1 coaching programme starts from CHF 900/month. The nature of 1:1 coaching means that everything is designed around your personal needs. After a discovery call and a trial session with me, and if we both feel that we could work well together, you receive a personalized offer.
There is no one-size fits all approach. I do not offer “German lessons” where you’re quoted a price depending on the number of sessions you want to book. You tell me what your goal is and what your schedule looks like and we find the best possible way to integrate German into your daily routine.
Also, the learning doesn’t stop when the 1:1 session ends. I help you break through the language barrier and learn German faster. Yes, you get “lessons”, but you’re really investing in a strategy, a structure and an expert on your side so you can move from holding back to initiating and participating in conversations.
