Hi, I’m Sandra.
Like you, I’ve had the experience of living abroad, and I know what it’s like when you struggle to communicate in the way that comes naturally in your first language. It can leave you feeling awkward, or that you’re just not coming across as ‘yourself’.
My client, Cristiana felt the same. She landed in Switzerland from Denmark, and for a while got by using English. But as time went on, she became frustrated with not being able to communicate with her neighbours in a small village outside Zurich or carry out basic tasks like switching a hair appointment.
She came to me, and within three months she’d reached A1, and could deal with all those everyday situations. A year later, she was a solid B2, and was so proud of herself when she managed to take her (non-German speaking) husband to register with the authorities, successfully navigating employment contracts, rentals agreements, health insurance and more. Her husband was so impressed, he told her to make sure and tell her German teacher (me) about her triumph. ☺️
